Epilogue

Some important queries lead directly to a follow-up action that can be done by a follow-on SQL statement.

That statement can be inserted into the Epilogue page of the query.

A common example is a query that generates a spreadsheet of many rows of data to submit to a regulatory agency. The epilogue changes the status of each source role in the database from "pending" to "submitted".

Update Database

Some important queries analyze existing rows of data to detect and list rows that have flaws or omissions.

The Extended Edition allows the Security Administrator to give highly trusted users the added role of Database Updater.

When a Query User is also a Database Updater, the displayed results of the query allow them go Go to each problematic result, investigate, and solve it.

Import SQL Functions

SQL Functions are an advanced feature of the SQL language.

A function is one type of "black box". You feed one or more pieces of data into the front of it and some other data comes out the back of it.

They are rarely needed, but on occasion a SQL Function is the best, or only, solution to some challenge.
