EQQ Query Creator Guide

As a Query Creator, you build and publish queries that Query Users can run. No SQL knowledge is required. EQQ guides you through selecting data using the pre-defined database views your Administrator has set up.

The Query Creator Role

Query Creators are typically business users with a good understanding of the data, such as team leads, analysts, or Excel power users. You select columns from existing views, define filters, and set parameters for users to control at run time.

Creating a New Query

  1. Log in and click Create Query
  2. Select a base view that contains the data you need
  3. Choose the columns to include in the result
  4. Enter a descriptive query name and description

Adding Filters and Parameters

Filters restrict the data returned. You can define:

  • Fixed filters always applied (for example: only active records)
  • User parameters the user sets at run time (for example: date range or region)

Testing and Publishing

Click Test Run to preview results before publishing. Once satisfied, click Publish and select which users or groups can access this query. It immediately appears on their dashboard.

Editing and Retiring Queries

You can update a published query at any time. If a query is no longer needed, retire it to remove it from dashboards without deleting its definition.
